Søren Schmidt Thomsen
Søren Schmidt Thomsen is CEO of a danish Public-Private-Partnership in central Jutland with the city of Fredericia as the epicenter. Triangle Energy Alliance (TEA) consists of 7 municipalities, currently 22 commercial companies and utilities and 2 educational institutions. TEA is established in 2021 and our purpose is to establish the Triangle area and Fredericia as a north european hub for green fuels, based on our abundant infrastructures, ressources and competencies.
Søren has a Masters degree in forestry from the University of Copenhagen (2000), and has spent his career firstly within advisory services, since 2010 in the danish energy sector across district heating, the gas/biomethane sector, the power sector and lastly strategic energy planning before starting up the TEA partnership.
Vorträge & Veranstaltungen
The presentation will give a quick overview of current PtX projects in Denmark, a broad array ranging from hydrogen production, e-methanol, ammonia and e-SAF/BioSAF. Some are commissioned and in operation, others are still in the planning phase. The presentation will also reflect on the hydrogen infrastructure collaboration between Denmark/The North Sea and Germany, and it's impact on ability to scale renewable power production and export of hydrogen, and lastly a reflection on carbon as a neccesary but scarce resource for green fuels.
